📖 Dark Magic, Hidden Hearts
Brianna’s Desperation
The skyline of the Upper East Side glimmered like a field of diamonds outside Brianna’s apartment, but inside, the room was a storm of panic. The chandeliers cast fractured light over scattered papers, laptops, and half-empty glasses of champagne that had gone cold hours ago.
Brianna paced, heels clicking against marble, voice sharp and wild. “This is unacceptable! Unacceptable!”
Her entourage of sycophants huddled near the large windows, uncertain whether to speak or scurry like mice under a predator’s gaze.
“Miss,” one of them ventured, voice tentative, “maybe we should just… wait. Let things calm down?”
Brianna whirled, eyes blazing like molten glass. “Wait? Wait?! My parents are on my case! The school is breathing down my neck! And that girl—that freak—she’s laughing at all of us!”
One of her tech-savvy allies, a pale boy with glasses perched crookedly on his nose, hesitated before blurting out, “I can get access to the school’s surveillance. We could see exactly what she did.”
Brianna’s grin split her face, terrifying in its intensity. “Do it. Now. Every camera. Every hallway. Every moment. I want her. I want to prove she’s dangerous. I want the world to see it!”
The others exchanged nervous glances. The obsession in her eyes was frightening—raw, unchecked, and unhinged.
“She’s going to pay,” Brianna hissed, voice low, venomous. “She thinks she can humiliate me, terrorize me, and no one will notice? No one will stand up for me? She’s wrong.”
A knock at the door made Brianna snap her head around. Her team froze.
“What is it?” she demanded.
“Nothing, miss. Just… security checking in,” one of them stammered.
Brianna waved them off, muttering under her breath. “I don’t care about security. I don’t care about rules. She will pay. I will make sure of it.”
Her hands trembled slightly—not with fear, but with the electric current of desperate obsession. She stormed to the balcony, overlooking the city lights, and for a moment, the vastness of New York seemed to mock her.
But Brianna’s mind was already racing—plans, schemes, blackmail, exposure. If she could just get a single piece of proof… a single undeniable piece of evidence… Emma would have no place to hide.
“Every camera, every file, every secret,” she whispered to herself, eyes narrowing. “She thinks she’s untouchable. I’ll show her. I’ll show everyone.”
And somewhere deep beneath the glittering skyline, a dangerous resolve took root—a desperation so fierce it threatened to consume her entirely.
The war was no longer about high school gossip.
It was personal.
And Brianna would stop at nothing to win.
