Synopsis

Mara Ellison thought her marriage was failing in ordinary ways—distance, overwork, and quiet resentment—until one photograph reveals that her husband’s affair is only the visible part of a deeper betrayal. As lawyers, donors, in-laws, and the affair partner all move to protect what they stand to lose, Mara must decide whether survival means retreat or strategy. What begins as marital collapse becomes a war over money, reputation, memory, and the right to define what really happened.
